How many sessions will I need?
The number of follow up sessions required for the outcome that most people desire differs for each person, but three to six is about average. I ask that to begin with, you commit to at least three sessions, at least one to two weeks apart (treatment or self-care exercise sessions, or a combination of both) to really notice a difference in the way you feel. You are under no obligation to do this - if one session achieves the outcome you need, then great. I do think the treatment has an accumulative effect, so a minimum investment of three treatments is what I recommend if you really want to see a meaningful, positive change. Maintenance sessions are also recommended - again the duration between sessions varies between individuals, but I advise most clients to attend every three months to maintain the progress achieved from prior sessions and build on the investment they have already made. Again, there is no obligation. Some clients prefer to book when they feel they need to, which may be every 4 weeks or 6 months. After a while, you will find the frequency that works for you.
I will never recommend you have treatments more than once a week. More frequently than this is just not necessary.
Will I have to undress?
I use my hands to feel the bones and muscles. To facilitate this, please wear loose comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely- leggings or joggers are perfect. I may ask you to remove your top or t-shirt when I come to adjust your spine, but if you don't want to, it's ok.
Will I need an X-ray?
I do not take X-rays. I will refer you to an alternative practitioner or consultant when appropriate, to ensure you are getting the very best care. Very occasionally, I refer patients for an xray or MRI, if required.
Do I have to pay up front for a course of treatment?
Absolutely not! I never charge for treatments you have not received. It's pay as you go!
Unless you are paying by cash at the time of your appointment, the fees are due in advance by card payment or bank transfer. You will receive your invoice by email with instructions for how to pay. There is also an option to pay by card when booking online.
Can I claim on my health insurance policy?
Most health insurance policies include chiropractic treatment in their list of benefits. You may be able to claim the cost of your treatment. Please check with your provider for details.
Please note, I am not registered with Bupa or AXA PPP.
